London: In October 2019, Axel Rudakubana reached out to Childline. He asked, “What should I do if I want to kill somebody?” That’s pretty chilling, right?

He’s now facing sentencing for the murder of three young girls last July. At the time, he was just 17. The prosecutor shared that he had a lot of anger.

Rudakubana had been bullied at school and felt like he wanted revenge. He even took a knife to school, saying he’d use it if someone really annoyed him.

After his call to Childline, the police were alerted. They visited him at home, where he admitted to bringing a knife to school.

He had been temporarily excluded for attacking another student with a hockey stick. But when he confessed to taking a knife to school multiple times, his exclusion became permanent.

This whole situation is just heartbreaking. It’s a reminder of how important it is to talk about feelings and seek help before things escalate.
