Birmingham: A tragic incident unfolded when a 12-year-old boy named Leo Ross was stabbed. It happened in broad daylight near Scribers Lane in Hall Green.

Leo was on his way home from school when the attack occurred around 3:15 PM. He was rushed to the hospital but sadly passed away later that evening.

His school, Christ Church C of E Secondary Academy, is heartbroken. The head teacher, Diane Henson, described Leo as a “lively and happy young man” with many friends.

She mentioned how much he was adored by his peers and how he brightened the school community. The school is opening a book of condolence to support Leo’s family and friends during this tough time.

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the murder. This teenager was also linked to an unrelated assault on an elderly woman earlier this year.

Police are urging anyone with information or footage from the area to come forward. Chief Superintendent Richard North expressed the community’s shock and sadness over this senseless act.

He emphasized the importance of supporting Leo’s family and friends, acknowledging the deep pain they are experiencing. The whole community is mourning the loss of a bright young life.
