Calderdale: A dangerous sex offender is back in jail. David Collier, 35, attacked a teenage girl on her doorstep. This shocking incident happened in broad daylight.

The girl was just chatting with him when he started making crude comments. He even rubbed himself inappropriately. It was all caught on CCTV, showing how brazen he was.

During the assault, he touched her over her clothes and forcibly kissed her. Thankfully, she managed to get back inside when another man approached.

In court, it came out that Collier had a history. He was jailed for eight-and-a-half years back in 2013 for trying to rape a man. He had completed a sex offender program while in prison, but the judge felt he hadn’t learned anything.

Judge Ahmed Nadim said Collier was a “dangerous offender.” He received a 30-month sentence and will be on license for 18 months after that. Plus, he has to follow a sexual harm prevention order for 15 years.

The victim shared her feelings in court. She was worried no one would believe her without the CCTV footage. She felt angry and isolated.

The judge told Collier he acted in a “sexually perverted manner” in public. He warned him that he could face a life sentence for any future offenses. Collier’s future is now in his hands, and he needs to be careful.
