Travelers in Yorkshire are advised to stay put as Storm Eowyn brings severe weather warnings
York: Passengers are being told to avoid travel as Storm Eowyn hits. The Met Office has issued an amber warning for wind across parts of Yorkshire. This warning is in effect on Friday, January 24. Areas like Harrogate, Leeds, and Bradford are expected to feel the storm’s impact.
TransPennine Express has also advised against traveling between major cities like Manchester and Glasgow. They’re worried about delays and cancellations due to the storm. A spokesperson emphasized that safety is their top priority.
With the amber warning, any trains that do run might face disruptions. Passengers can change their travel plans or get refunds for their tickets. The Met Office warns of potential danger from flying debris and large waves along the coast.
Additionally, a yellow warning for wind will cover most of Leeds and surrounding areas. Snow is also expected, especially in northern North Yorkshire. So, if you’re in the area, it’s best to stay safe and reconsider your travel plans.
