Porter County, Indiana: A heartbreaking case has unfolded. A foster mum, Jennifer Lee Wilson, has been sentenced for the death of her 10-year-old foster son, Dakota Stevens. This tragic event happened after Dakota tried to get help from a neighbor.

On April 25, 2024, police received a call about an unresponsive boy. When they arrived, Dakota was found lying outside, and CPR was being performed. Sadly, he was not breathing and had no pulse.

Doctors later confirmed that Dakota died from severe brain swelling and lack of oxygen. He also had bruises on his neck and chest. Wilson, 49, admitted to reckless homicide in October.

Witnesses said Dakota had been misbehaving that day. He even asked a neighbor to call the police. Instead of helping him, Wilson took him home forcefully after a struggle.

Footage showed Wilson laying on Dakota’s midsection, which led to him becoming motionless. She claimed she thought he was just pretending. Tragically, it was much worse than that.

When she realized he was unconscious, she panicked and screamed his name. It’s a devastating reminder of the importance of protecting children.
