Telford: Residents are really upset about a new housing estate plan. The design looks a lot like a male organ, and it’s causing quite the stir.

Last summer, when the council asked for feedback, 85% of locals opposed it. One resident couldn’t believe no one laughed at the design. It’s just that obvious!

Another local, Antony, called the shape absurd. Many folks worry this development will ruin their green spaces. Jane, a 45-year-old resident, said it’s just another area of nature being destroyed for houses.

She pointed out that people will have to travel further for parks and open spaces. Despite all the complaints, the council is still reviewing the planning permission for this estate.

If it goes through, there will be 635 private parking spots and a pathway for cyclists and pedestrians. The planning documents show that many locals are concerned about losing one of the last green areas in Lawley.

This space is used by kids, dog walkers, and wildlife. The area, known as Lawley West, is marked for residential development in the local plan. It’s mostly green fields and has some trees and a brook running through it.

The council says they want to provide affordable housing for those in need. Right now, they’re just looking for outline permission, with more details to come if it gets approved.
