Meet Lashaun Pryce, the chef who travels far and wide to whip up meals for football stars in their homes, all while keeping it casual and fun.
He’s cooked for players from Southampton to Newcastle, and many spots in between. Lashaun, 35, lives in Crosland Moor and has served a bunch of Huddersfield Town players.
“I think I’ve cooked for the entire team,” he says. He learned his skills at a Caribbean restaurant in Huddersfield that closed in 2017.
Being a personal chef means a lot of driving. Lashaun covers about 18,000 miles a year. He also does private barbecues, parties, and weddings.
Recently, he cooked for the family of former Manchester United star Nicky Butt. He’s also served Mason Holgate, Kalvin Phillips, and even boxer Johnny Nelson.
Lashaun is super chill and not star-struck. He loves chatting with the players and is a Manchester United fan, which helps when he’s in their kitchens.
He says many footballers have simple tastes. Some love his Caribbean-style chicken wings, while others prefer chicken salad. Pasta is a hit for pre-match meals.
Right now, he has four regular clients and works with nutritionists to keep the players healthy. His schedule is packed seven days a week, often hopping around Manchester to cook for different players.
He usually travels solo, so he preps the meals, serves them, and cleans up afterward. Despite the driving, he loves his job.
“I never want to do anything else,” he says. “Driving can be tough, especially to Cardiff, but when I cook and everyone is happy, I’m happy.”
Lashaun has big plans for 2025. He wants to offer cooking lessons from his own venue in Huddersfield. His business, Private Dining Club, is on Facebook and Instagram.
He charges between £70-£90 per person for a private dining experience. Plus, he has his own Caribbean-style barbecue sauce available at Bolster Moor farm shop for £7 a bottle.
