Marsden: Kim Valentine is over the moon after losing more than 10st. She went from a size 24 to a size 12. At her heaviest, she weighed over 21st. Simple tasks like putting on socks were a struggle.

She used to rely on asthma medication but now she’s free from it. Kim can walk for miles without feeling breathless. At 58, she’s feeling better than ever. She credits her success to sheer willpower and support from a local Slimming World group.

Kim, a mum and fiction writer, shared her journey. She used to fit snugly into a UK size 24. She realized she was gaining weight and it was affecting her health. Her liver function was poor, and she was dealing with daily liver care.

After moving back to the UK from Dubai, she saw a photo of herself that shocked her. That was the wake-up call she needed. With determination and help from Slimming World, she started losing weight.

Now, she feels amazing. She loves walking and even enjoys shopping for clothes, which she used to dread. Kim still enjoys chocolate but in moderation.

“I used to eat for England,” she laughs. “My health has improved so much. I can walk up the stairs without gasping for air. Putting on my socks is no longer a challenge.

The biggest change? No more Ventolin. My liver function is great now, and I don’t need daily liver care. Changing my diet and cooking made all the difference.”

Sue Chiappori, her Slimming World consultant, is proud of Kim’s achievements. She’s truly done amazing work on her health journey.
