Lichfield: A massive pile of rubbish has caused quite a stir. Residents woke up to find an 80-foot-long mountain of waste blocking their road. It was a real mess, and people couldn’t get in or out of their homes.

The rubbish, mostly building waste, was dumped on Watery Lane. It was so big that it reached 10 feet high and 20 feet wide. Many locals were stuck, unable to access the nearby retail park with 30 businesses.

Contractors jumped into action early Tuesday to start clearing the mess. The waste likely came from a construction site, with a big lorry suspected of dumping it.

Residents were shocked. One local, Elaine Hutchings, said it was unbelievable. She felt trapped, saying, “Nobody could get in, and we couldn’t get out.”

Another local, Beth Toovey, who runs Thyme Kitchen restaurant, shared how it affected her business. She had to cancel bookings because the road was blocked.

Lichfield District Council is on the case. They’re looking for video evidence to catch the culprits. They’ve also informed the Environment Agency about the situation.

If anyone has tips or footage, they’re encouraged to reach out to the council. It’s a tough situation, and the community is hoping for a quick resolution.
