A man reportedly brandished a knife at a Manchester school, causing panic and a lockdown as armed police responded to the scene.
Parents were understandably freaked out when the school went into lockdown around 3 PM. They showed up to find armed officers at the gates, which were locked tight.
For about 45 minutes, parents waited outside, chatting with staff through the gates. Finally, the kids were allowed to leave.
It seems there was a confrontation in the playground with a parent before the man brandished the knife. One worried mom shared her experience, saying her partner was delayed picking up their daughter because of the situation.
When she arrived, she was met with a chaotic scene. Armed police were everywhere, and the gates were still locked. She panicked, wanting to know if her daughter was safe.
Another mom echoed her fears, saying she felt terrified seeing all the police and not getting any clear information from the school.
A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted assault, and the police are still investigating. Thankfully, no one was hurt during this scary incident.
