South Molton: A mum named Ruth Tripp just made waves with her incredible hair donation. She chopped off a whopping 67 inches of hair! That’s a lot of hair, right?

At 38, Ruth is a mum of four and decided to donate her long locks to The Little Princess Trust. This charity helps kids who have lost their hair by providing them with wigs. How sweet is that?

After her big chop, she was recognized by Guinness World Records for the largest single hair donation by a woman. Talk about making a difference!

Ruth shared that her hair was so long it was touching the floor. She knew it was time for a change. “It was just going to get damaged,” she said. So, she thought, why not give it away?

She didn’t think her hair would be a record-breaking donation. “I’m so used to having long hair,” she explained. But she wanted to help others, especially after her son’s experience in the neonatal unit.

Ruth had been growing her hair for six years. She wanted to do something meaningful with it. Instead of just a trim, she decided to donate it. That’s when she found The Little Princess Trust.

Her hair care routine was quite the task. It took hours to wash and air dry! Kids would often admire her hair, calling it “princess hair.” That made her want to donate even more.

During a family fun day, she finally made the cut. Not only did she donate her hair, but she also raised funds for the charity. What a fantastic way to give back!

After her donation, she learned how the charity makes wigs for children. Wendy, the founder, was amazed by Ruth’s contribution. “We never thought we’d see a donation this long,” she said.

The previous record was 61 inches, so Ruth really outdid herself. Her generous act will surely help many children in need.
