Sutton Coldfield: It’s such a sad story. Two little girls, Isabelle and Emmy, are now orphans. Their mum, Hannah Whittall, fought hard against breast cancer. Sadly, she passed away just 18 months after their dad died from pneumonia.

Hannah tried to protect her twins from the harsh truth of her illness. She went through tough treatments, including chemotherapy and a double mastectomy. In September 2024, she got the all-clear, and everyone celebrated. But just a month later, the cancer came back, and this time it was worse.

She spent her last Christmas at home with her girls, which was so special. But complications from pneumonia and other issues led to her being readmitted to the hospital. She passed away on January 14, surrounded by her family.

Her brother, Thomas, shared how much the girls loved their mum. They were always by her side, even when she was in the hospital. Hannah was their whole world. They thought she was just sick, not realizing how serious it was.

Thomas mentioned how Hannah was an amazing mum, always active and involved in their lives. The girls even worried about their dad being alone in heaven, but now they feel comforted knowing their mum is with him.

Hannah’s mother, Phyllis, took care of her during her final days. She was a nurse for 50 years and wanted to be there for her daughter. Thomas is now raising funds on GoFundMe for the twins, and they’ve already gathered nearly £30,000 in just a few days. It’s a tough time for them, but the community is rallying to help.
