Yorkshire is bracing for Storm Éowyn with new wind warnings and alerts in place. Stay safe and prepared as strong winds approach the region.
Yorkshire: Storm Éowyn is on its way, and it’s no joke. New weather alerts are popping up all over the UK as we prepare for some wild winds.
Starting today, there’s a yellow wind warning for the South and the Welsh coast. This will wrap up by 5 PM, but then Yorkshire gets its turn on Friday.
At 6 AM Friday, an amber warning kicks in for places like Bradford, Huddersfield, Harrogate, and Scarborough. So, keep an eye out!
The Met Office is warning us about possible power cuts and transport disruptions. There’s even a risk of damage to homes and injuries from flying debris.
Storm Éowyn will sweep across the northwest of the UK on Friday, bringing some seriously strong winds. We’re talking gusts of 60-70 mph inland and even higher along the coasts.
After the storm passes, winds might ease a bit, but don’t get too comfy. They’ll pick up again, especially in Northern Ireland and western Scotland.
For the rest of Yorkshire, a second yellow wind warning starts at midnight Friday and lasts all day. So, it’s going to be a windy weekend!
Other parts of the UK are facing even worse conditions. Two red warnings are in effect for Northern Ireland and Scotland, with gusts reaching up to 100 mph in some areas.
On Saturday, an amber warning will still be in place for the Highlands, while yellow warnings cover the rest of Scotland. It’s going to be a wild ride!
As we head into Sunday, more warnings will pop up along the western coast of England and parts of Wales. So, stay alert and be prepared!
