London: O2 is raising prices for thousands of customers in the UK. Starting April 1, 2025, your monthly bill will go up. The exact increase depends on your plan.

If you’re on a pay-monthly or Sim-only plan, expect an extra £1.80 each month. For those on Smartwatch or Data-only plans, it’s just £0.75 more. But don’t worry, if you have a pay-as-you-go plan or O2 Essential, your prices won’t change.

O2 also mentioned that out-of-bundle charges will rise by 5% each year starting April 1. They suggest checking their Extra Charges guide for the latest pricing info.

This price hike follows a new Ofcom ruling. Now, telecom companies must show price increases in pounds and pence, not percentages. This change aims to prevent those annoying surprises from inflation-based hikes.

Ofcom wants to make things clearer for customers. So, phone and broadband providers can no longer link price increases to future inflation rates. This should help you better understand what you’ll pay.

O2 reassured customers in their message. They said they want to provide clarity about annual price rises. From April 2025, your mobile plan will increase, but they’ll show it in clear pounds and pence.

They understand that price hikes aren’t great news. But they want you to know that only your Airtime Plan will change. The cost of your device will stay the same. You can check your current monthly payment by signing into My O2.

In their message about contracts, O2 explained that your monthly subscription will increase by a fixed amount each year. They promise to make all details clear in your contract forms.
