Washington DC: A lot of users are leaving X, formerly known as Twitter. This comes after Elon Musk’s speech during Donald Trump’s inauguration. People were upset about Musk’s actions, which some say resembled a Nazi salute.

Musk bought Twitter back in April 2022. Since then, he’s made some big changes that didn’t sit well with many users. He got rid of the old blue verification ticks and started charging for new ones. This didn’t go over well.

While some users have jumped ship to BlueSky, others stuck around, hoping for new features Musk promised. But after his recent antics, many decided they’d had enough.

One user said they were leaving for good, stating they wouldn’t support Musk’s ownership. Another shared a video of Musk’s speech and announced they’d be locking their account by midnight. It was clear they were done.

Others echoed similar sentiments, calling Musk a joke and saying they were leaving Twitter forever. Even a British brewery, Northern Monk, announced they were stepping away due to concerns about the platform’s discourse.

On the flip side, some defended Musk, claiming his actions were a clever way to boost traffic to X. They argued that he was just trying to get people talking about the platform.

Some critics labeled those leaving as hypocrites, pointing out that many would still use Facebook, which has its own issues. In response to the backlash, Musk took to X to defend himself, saying the criticism was old and tired.
