Trump’s first foreign trip may not include UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, raising eyebrows and questions about the US-UK relationship.
Washington DC: So, Trump just dropped a hint about his first foreign trip. He was asked where he plans to go after being sworn in again. It sounds like he might skip the UK this time.
He mentioned that his first trip usually goes to the UK. But last time, he went to Saudi Arabia because they promised to buy a ton of American products. He joked about how it was the least reported story ever.
When asked about this trip, he said if Saudi Arabia wants to buy more, he might head there. It’s interesting because he had a big tour back in 2017, hitting several countries in the Middle East and Europe.
Italy’s Prime Minister was the only EU leader at his inauguration. Keir Starmer didn’t make it, but the Foreign Secretary said Starmer would meet Trump soon in Washington. It’s all a bit of a shake-up for the usual US-UK ties.
