London: There’s a big recall happening for cough medicines sold at Tesco and Asda. Some bottles were found to have foreign material in them. Yikes!

Bells Healthcare, the company behind these products, is looking into it after a customer raised the alarm. They’ve issued a Class 2 recall notice to keep everyone safe.

Four products are affected, including Tesco Health Dry Cough Relief and Asda Strong Dry Tickly Cough. If you have these, it’s best to check your stock.

Stores have been told to stop selling these batches right away. They need to quarantine any remaining stock and send it back to the supplier.

Good news is, patients don’t have to return the products. But they should keep an eye out for any visible contamination. If you see something off, reach out to a healthcare professional.

The notice also says if anyone has bad reactions or questions about the medicine, they should get medical help. Better safe than sorry!

These cough medicines contain dextromethorphan hydrobromide, which helps with coughs from colds or flu. Just remember, it won’t fix the underlying issue.

By the way, NHS reports show flu cases have peaked this winter, but hospitals are still really busy. Almost 5,000 patients are in hospitals with flu right now.

And get this, 96% of adult hospital beds are full. It’s been a tough winter for the NHS, so let’s all stay vigilant!
